Our Story

Crafted by Hand. Rooted in Hawaiʻi.

Distilling here is more than a process. It is a skill, an art, and a passion carried forward one small batch at a time.

12th Hawaii Distiller

A Kona Distillery With Deep Roots.

We believe in welcoming everyone with open arms, maintaining a deep connection to the land, and creating spirits of the highest quality.

Each drop we produce is crafted, bottled, and labeled by hand on the Big Island. Our spirits begin with locally sourced ingredients and raw Hawaiian honey, giving every batch aromatic complexity and a character all its own.

12th Hawaii Distiller is the first distillery in Kona since the 1950s and the twelfth distiller in the state of Hawaiʻi. Licensed since 2017, our purpose is to bring out the best the islands have to offer—one sip at a time.

“Distilling, to us, isn’t just a process; it’s a skill, an art, and a passion.”
Dave Puckett, distiller at 12th Hawaii Distiller
Our Distiller

Meet Dave Puckett.

Distilling runs through Dave’s family history. His great-great-great-grandfather began distilling in the 1800s, and the craft continued through later generations.

Dave moved to Oʻahu in 1980 and later made the Big Island his permanent home. After more than forty years in construction—where precision and attention to detail defined his work—he retired and traded copper nails for copper stills.

He began experimenting with whiskey and other spirits in 2010 and has been refining the craft ever since. The same drive for perfection that guided his construction career now shapes every bottle produced at 12th Hawaii Distiller.
